There are 24 examples, with two in each of the twelve keys. This catagory, with a root movement of six semitones, is different from catagories one to five since it does not make any difference whether the root movement goes up or down by six semitones, you end up on the same note. For example, C goes to Gb and then back to C. Consequently, the pairs in the other five groups, where one is moving up and one is moving down, are replaced here by pairs whose first part starts on a major chord and whose second part starts on a minor chord. For example, 4j corresponds to the chord sequence C-Gb-Am-Ebm-C starting and ending in major, and 4m corresponds to the same chords but starting and ending in minor, Am-Ebm-C-Gb-Am. Only two scales are used since bars three and four are harmonically equivalent to bars one and two. In the 4j and 4m examples you can imagine you are playing on the chord sequence C-Gb-C-Gb-C (or Am-Ebm-Am-Ebm-Am if you prefer to think in minor instead of major).
